While getting stuck on ice isn't new to me per se while driving, doing so while hardly having made an exit from the parking lot definitely was. Unlike several times in the past when I had owned or driven around in all while drive cars, the current one I have is a minivan which is primarily a front wheel one. It didn't help that the tyres just started rotating due to the black ice.
Enter two strangers into the scene. They were in the complex to actually fix some utility issues. They walked over to the other side and graciously started to push the vehicle from the front so that I can reverse out of the parking lot. It wasn't probably a huge thing for them but given the timing of my departure to catch a train to head into my office, coupled with the fact that I had a neighbour whom I was dropping off at the train station as well going a much longer distance, the immediate help meant way more than just getting unstuck. It also meant being on time to the train station and hence our respective offices as well that day!
While I did thank both of them in person, wanted to write down this blog as well.
