We all thought had it right,
Was in for quite a surprise one night.
From the dawn of the nineteenth Februry, you see!
She perhaps wondered where we have all been!
For each one of us just maintained a very strict mute,
With nary a greeting well past noon!
The confusion was caused because you see,
She mentioned her birthday close to Christmas Eve!
Somehow the nineteenth of February was unknown,
And everyone in the room had twenty - as the day to go.
Behind the scenes it was a little different though,
With preparations to celebrate that began weeks ago.
An "halwa" was imported from Tirunelveli town,
Traveling miles across oceans and continents that are found.
As everyone just walked into her house,
Close to midnight of twentieth they found,
The birthday was supposed to be on nineteenth it seems -
But hey, it is just a eleven forty five pm,
So what's the big deal? :)
