It isn't rocket scienc! Or so it seemed at first. While I get a lot of canned items, most, if not all, spoil me with the extreme convenience of a lever that can be pulled that would open the can.
Did I ever land up having the power to break the lever itself? Of course, yes! And what happened then is what I had typically used to open ANY can that didn't have the lever since then - use a combination of the hammer and knife - yes, you read that right - HAMMER and KNIFE.
OK, what is the big deal, one might ask! Enter a new "can opener" - a tool that has NEVER been in my kitchen arsenal any time, until this morning, that is.
I already hear the hums of Shania Twain's "That don't impress me much!"
I was all too eager to try this new tool. But what happened is I chose the wrong can to try and make my first attempt to use it - or so it seems!
Yes, of all things, I had a can of beetroot. I used the tool (very likely in the most incorrect ways possible) and something must have opened. With the heaters still not on at my and my hands still being cold, the sight of copius amount of red fluid suddenly flowing down triggered a panic reaction in me. Yikes!!
And to all those who say beetroot is some other colour and NOT supposed to be "blood red" or whatever, thank you! :D
